I voted south, but I'm curious how much damage to Ivan a direct hit on Jamaica would do. Could it seriously disrupt it? :?:
I know a direct hit would seriously disrupt Jamaica, especially at the Cat 4/5 levels!
Hoping for a miss...

Assuming Ivan moves SE-NW across Jamaica moving at 15-17 mph, it'll move across quickly and at best only weaken 5-10 mph.

I voted for direct hit. I think it'll pass within 50 miles of the coast.

I've never been to Jamaica. I understand that it has mountains on its eastern side and thought perhaps those might poke a stick in Ivan's wheels.

Ya know, mon. Jamaica will take a direct 'it, mon, and sweep up all da ganja into it's eye. Then it will spread good vibrations all over de nations it touches. And all will be smilin' and smoothed out by the Jamaican riddims, no?
