Yes I can remember that hurricane like it was yesterday. What happen is it bombed out to about 905 millibars. What that did while it was moving near central America. Is it was a powerful area of low pressure then the pressure over the land was much higher/rougher with the mountains. Which can also lower the winds on the land side of the tropical cyclone which forces the cyclone to move in different dirctions. What else happen is that doe's is low pressure wents to full in a void/high pressure. So with the mountains causing riseing(High pressure) The low pressure/hurricane moved into that. My thinking is for the west movement of this tropical cycclone is because of south America. But it will only keep going more to the west if it bombs in keeps at it. As soon as it weakens expect a northwest turn.
