Maybe we should substitute "wishing" Ivan their way to "fearing" Ivan will come our way. I find it hard to believe anyone living in Fla wishingcasting Ivan to come this way, at least anyone who has already been affected by Charley and Frances. Me and so many I know just wish that Ivan would go "poof" and disappear.

I can only speak for myself, but I think it is more a case of being a little gun shy after Bonnie (I know she wasn't much, but still), Charley, then Frances. It is a case of "what's next?"

No one really wants to expereince multiple storms in a short period of time, it is exhausting. Nevermind the preparation, damage, & cleanup.

Everyone in Florida has every right to worry without it being -removed-. Most of the models are indicating this.

I'm from Texas and I am certainly not -removed-. I happen to believe that the GOM is relatively safe unless Ivan stalls for long enough for the CONUS high to move to the East as well as containing some dry air.

There is a VERY STRONG bias by the professionals that a poleward movement HAS TO occur. Because I believe the low latitude storms don't follow this rule, I'm going with the "cracked" model that says Central America.

Most people I disagree with are really fearcasters because they fear the consequences of a Cat 5 storm in their area. They DO NOT want to be lead into a false sense of security by others. I say KUDOS to them and stay vigilent.

What's all this BS about the Carolinas??

Come on,folks! :grr:

Here's one Tarheel who doesn't (let me repeat myself - DOESN'T!) expect or want this storm up here!!

Jeez; get one jerk (now removed) on the board, and we all get branded. A very equal (and uncontestable) argument could be made for some of you Floridians!

 Lets try to make everyone feel at home here, and respect/learn from each other.

PS: cant resist...go 'Noles! 8-)

Regards,
Millibar

Then there are those that wish it would be a fish, accept it won't and realize that he could go W- to GOM, NW - to Florida (west coast), N- Keys & Miami, then the NE up along east coast to who knows where. Oh yea, the really NE that take it out to see.
As for me, I'll lean at this time to N or NW. Leave open for an up the coast path.

Sure we don't want moderately strong to intense hurricanes to cause damage in our area...

But... How about meteorologically experiencing them?
