YES.....POWER....

#1 Postby Windtalker » Sat Sep 11, 2004 7:15 am

After 6 Long Days, Power came back on last night here in my area of Broward County. The area was not that badly damaged besides all the Ficus Trees down and shingles/roof tiles blown off. That was only a part of Frances where we got hurricane force gusts and we were out of power for 6 dyas. I wonder what will happen if we got the full force...maybe 3 weeks? Lets hope not.....the good part of all this is from the sweating, I lost about 7 lbs

Congratulations on getting your power back...you are one of the lucky ones. I am up in Port St. Lucie at ground zero and we are still sweating it out. Maybe today will be the day.

gotta love FPL. We were in the eye wall the whole time (around 15 hours) and had quite a bit of damage to our neighborhood, but thankfully not to our house (screened patior cover not counted here). We were powerless 5 days so we feel extremely lucky. Unfortunately, I eat to deal with stress so even the impromtu sauna didn't help my waistline! :D

With the cat naps of 2 hrs a night with the sweat rolling off you, and your whole routine out of wack....I'm luckey if I ate 2 canned meals a day  I hope we don't have to go through that again but with Ivan around the cornor, who knows....Hope everyone gets their Power back soon.

Windtalker, I hope for your and the rest of florida sake, that frances was not a test run, in order to get ready for the big one in Ivan. Im pretty sure the last thing you want to imagine is losing everything, 3 days after you just recieved power again. The whole state of florida are in my prayers.
