Hail, Would would mean...
huge updrafts right? I remember after Andrew I heard about Dr. Fujita taking an airial survey and stating how much the Homestead damage reminded him of tornado type damage. Then I heard the term "microburst", would I be correct in assuming that the potential for "microburst" tornados would be very high in this system? If so then could you imagine the wind speed generated in those "microbursts" ? If the winds surrounding them are blowing 160 + they must be near F4 or F5 tornado type speeds! That is pretty scary stuff!

Hur Hunters mentioning lightening and hail in the last three vortex messages esp "FREQUENT LIGHTNING ALL QUADS INSIDE EYE. EYE
APPEARS TO BE BECOMING BETTER DEFINED." in the last one. Usually means an intensifying storm.

A ten image loop on the Nasa site shows the CDO has become much better organized in the last four hours
I think our boy may finally be ready to make his run at history. I could be very wrong and I have not said this at any time since he entered the Caribbean but nothing ventured nothing gained and I had no intention of saying anything but what I have seen in the last few minutes has really gotten my attention. If I am wrong don't blast me too bad and Mets explain the flaws in my thinking because I think the old boy is about to intensify considerably.Less than 900.

I'm in terribly unfamiliar territory but I also remember the Andrew review as mentioning more tornados than could be counted apparently generated within the eyewall. That made some sense given the friction of the landfall and intensity but this is over water. In an intensifying C5 I think just about any atmospheric dynamic is possible. I hope they got a lot of readings and pictures.
