Agree...and beach erosion is a problem here this year.... a couple of the oceanfront homes trucked in 30 truckloads of sand (homeowners expense) and was all washed away by Charley/Frances...the big brown sandbags are showing and if we take another hit.....its good nite Irene for those houses

We've got mega-tons of unneeded sand we can send you -- thanks to Frances.

Ironically, we (Central East Coast FL) also spend millions of dollars to restore sand to our eroded beaches. What Frances did in three days would take dredges and backhoes a year to accomplish.

We do that up here in NJ and the Nor'easters wash them away as if they were nothing!

Well, I've been working all day and not until this evening heard we're in for a bit of weather, a friend joking big weather until I asked him to be serious and it sounded like not much, since we're all ready for the worst since Frances almost said hello. Hope it all goes low and slow and waiting for cycloneye's opinon.

Whoever is in the 5 day cone now, that's a clear indication of where it WON'T hit.
