Rainband Question

#1 Postby STORMSURGE » Thu Sep 16, 2004 11:31 pm

Prior to landfall Ivan had very few banding components, it was like a doughnut, but now this far inland the rainbands extend from western carolina all the way down to the coastal areas of the panhandle of FLA. looking at intellicast overall view... why is that?

Tropical cyclones unravel when they make landfall, as they spend the time over land rainbands move further and further from the center.
