Quote from New Orleans Met!

#1 Postby bfez1 » Fri Sep 17, 2004 10:02 am

"Our concerns the last few days were valid. It is looking more and more like Jeannie could be a threat to the Gulf sometime next week. A big blocking high will build to her north and she won't be able to move north. Could be a threat to FL then the Gulf. More later."

Could be.. Depending where and if she enters Fla.. she could enter to GOM after crossing the state

Don't you think he should have balanced his reporting by mentioning the chance of dissipation?

David Bernard said yesterday that it could either get caught by the trough and go NW towards the Carolinas and out to sea, or it would miss it and be pushed westward across FL and into the gulf.

I CANNOT believe that Florida and the GOM may be dealing with another system! I won't, I won't, I won't!!!! :x

....and to think just this morning i woke up thinking at least we were safe for a while and even maybe for the rest of the season....we could really use some rain though - can't believe we didn't get even a drop from Ivan.

I intend to enjoy the weekend though without a thought to what MIGHT come.

I don't think she's gonna make it. Check this out.

If she does cross into the gulf, she only has a few days ahead of her to strengthen or she really won't be much after hitting Florida.

im with you. if this thing survives than the dolphins make the playoffs and fsu will beat the canes next year. very unlikely scenarios. we can give the mice and keyboards a rest for a few days and catch up on the chores this weekend.

of course that depends on how far west she goes after she crosses FL. Not guaranteed a EGOM event or even a CGOM....BTW- Hisp. is killing her...

That was my first take yesterday. Cyclones in formation don't do well against Hispaniola. Especially when pinned-down by synoptics.

This one was vented by a ULL to its NE exactly like Ivan and would have taken off...
