Question about wind speed and concrete roof tiles.
Five of my nearest neighbors had both barrel tile and flat concrete tiles removed during frances. My question is what wind speeds would cause this type of damage. By the way all are different builders and built over 7 year time period. Thanks in advance for any info.

Could vary. Some tiles may have been cracked and allowing them to come off at a low wind speed say 70 or 80. MOst of the time this type of roof tile shouldn't come off under 110 or so. I am a buildier and alot depends the installer and how hot they were the day they install the roof. THe tiles are fragile and crack easily when nailing them into the roof.
