Interesting coincidence between 2003 and 2004

#1 Postby Derek Ortt » Sat Sep 18, 2004 10:52 am

last year the big 3 were the C,F, and I storms, and to a lesser extent the J. Well, this year, the big 3 has been the C,F, and I storms as well (with the A and G also causing severe problems, and J being the a big storm to a lesser extent.

The one difference is that this year's versions have been much more destructive. Claudette was a strong 1, Charley was a 4. Fabian was a 3, Frances was a 4 in the Bahamas. Isabel was a 2, Ivan was a 3,4,5,5,3/4. Also, Jeanne has caused damage on a similar scale as did Juan. Alex also was significant and Gaston was quite severe, though we got a huge break that it did manage to get inland just before it was about to bomb. We did have our Grance though with Hermine

That is very interesting. It's like 2003 was a warm up for 2004.

Let's all pray these are the only similarities. There were two storms which formed in December last year. Enough is enough without extending the season.
