Hold off the storms - I just might make it to D.I. yet...

It sounds as if the beach house on Dauphin Island that my parents were going to for the month of October has SURVIVED!!

This is great news, as one, and possibly more of the houses we stayed in last spring have completely vanished.

The sand has been cleared to within 1/2 mile of the house, and there's no water or sewer or electric yet... but who really needs those things when you've got the dunes ... oh wait - the dunes are gone too... the calm seas... oh wait.. that's not a given... the blue sky ... hmm.. well, hopefully...

Anyway - with a possible couple week delay on the trip - it looks like I will still make it to my beloved Daupin Island at the end of October!!

Wish me luck and pray for blue skies, baby!

Here's a shot of one of the beach houses we stayed in in April:

I'm glad to hear about that house, but I'm so sorry for all of the others that were lost!
