If you thought the Ivan debate was bad you don't want...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

to be here when Lisa and 93L merge.

I'm thinking the circulation of Lisa will dissipate allowing 93L to become Matthew, but NHC being NHC will probably maintain Lisa as a tropical cyclone and keep 93L from becoming another named tropical cyclone, even if meteorological data proves otherwise.

Here we go again...

Since the NHC has already set a precedent, my vote is for Lisa.

I have an extreme headache right now. :(

AFTER QUITE A BIT OF OBSERVATION... AND AT TIMES ANIMATED DISCUSSION... THE NHC HAS DECIDED TO NAME THE DISTURBANCE OVER THE BAY OF CAMPECHE TROPICAL STORM IVAN.

TROPICAL STORM IVAN IS EXPECTED TO ABSORB HURRICANE LISA, AT WHICH TIME IT MAY BE NECCESARY TO UPGRADE IVAN TO HURRICANE STATUS.

Quick note...

Lisa should be declared dissipated at 11pm. I can no longer find ANY signs of a circulation. Instead, 93L is already taking over.

If Stewart does Lisa's advisory...I expect a downgrade. If it's Avila's turn...don't count on it.

I'm sure there is an ongoing animated "discussion" in NHC grounds as I type.
