Doesnt it appear to be moving NW and put landfall in central LA??

You are watching shear being blown away from center. Its been happening Ivan jr's entire new life. LA will get most of the convection though, so it might as well have moved your way.

Local met here just said it does appear to be moving more NW now and will probably make landfall between central and western LA.

coordinates from 4am to 7am moved north of NW. 7 points north and only 6 points w

Also said could stall this is bad news for NO we have the two persistent rainbands setting up right over us.

I think the storm might be too weak for the models to get a good handle on it.

Texas City/Galveston, TX, haven't had rain in weeks.


The shear is lessening, and it could head a bit more westerly today. Kinda looks like he might get a bit better organized soon. Ivan the Insane..

We haven't had much lately until this past Saturday when a severe storm appeared out of nowhere...it was pouring down rain sideways, wind was blowing like crazy, trees were uprooted, over 5000 people were without power, lightning was close...I was in a restaurant and watched lightning strike some apartments and they caught on fire. I posted about it in the US Weather Watch Forum. I'm sure that was worse than what I'll see from Ivan if he makes it here, except probably more rain.

Local mets say landfall is still likley between Galveston and the Sabine River.

Did they say why? I wonder if they're just going by the official forecast or if they expect it to resume the WNW motion.

Raining pretty good down here in Vermilion Parish. Lots of gusty winds and very dark sky.
