This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Yes I agree as well as another NON-expert. While anything can happen... I wouldnt change any vacation to anywhere in a hurricane zone... Unless there is a foreseeable threat (ie the NHC's 5 day forecast for an active storm). While there is an elevated risk of a storm coming ashore somewhere along the US cost this year, who is to say it will happen in your vacation period and your vacation location... slim chance IMHO-enjoy your vacation 8-)

Miss Mary go ahead and enjoy your vacation as there is a VERY slim chance that you will deal with a tropical storm or a hurricane in that 11-18 timeframe.

IMHO, the remainder of July might see a weak to moderate TS in the Gulf and perhaps a struggling borderline TD or two in the basin later on in the month, that will lead the perenially impatient among us to declare the beginnings of a bust season. The only bust however, will be the doors coming down from mid August on, as the lid blows off, the CV train rolls in earnest, and the real meat of the season starts.
