Ivan has moved on to...well wherever big bad hurricanes go after they die. I am sure that many will not miss him. He did a great job of filling message boards for 3 weeks. Ivan will not reemerge into the Gulf in any form, like Bastardi has been saying. He also called for a "Great Texas Flood". Neil Frank called for a 50/50 shot for low to move north. He said he was leaning towards the north call. Its over RIP.

The Dead Collector : Bring out yer dead.
[a man puts a body on the cart]
Large Man with Dead Body : Here's one.
The Dead Collector : That'll be ninepence.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't : I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector : What?
Large Man with Dead Body : Nothing. There's your ninepence.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't : I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector : 'Ere, he says he's not dead.
Large Man with Dead Body : Yes he is.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't : I'm not.
The Dead Collector : He isn't.
Large Man with Dead Body : Well, he will be soon, he's very ill.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't : I'm getting better.
Large Man with Dead Body : No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment.
The Dead Collector : Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't : I don't want to go on the cart.
Large Man with Dead Body : Oh, don't be such a baby.
The Dead Collector : I can't take him.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't : I feel fine.
Large Man with Dead Body : Oh, do me a favor.
The Dead Collector : I can't.
Large Man with Dead Body : Well, can you hang around for a couple of minutes? He won't be long.
The Dead Collector : I promised I'd be at the Robinsons'. They've lost nine today.
Large Man with Dead Body : Well, when's your next round?
The Dead Collector : Thursday.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't : I think I'll go for a walk.
Large Man with Dead Body : You're not fooling anyone, you know. Isn't there anything you could do?
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't : I feel happy. I feel happy.
[the Dead Collector glances up and down the street furtively, then silences the Body with his a whack of his club]
Large Man with Dead Body : Ah, thank you very much.
The Dead Collector : Not at all. See you on Thursday.
Large Man with Dead Body : Right.

It still "may" be a premature burial for Ivan. I would wait another 12 hours before I write the death certificate out.

You have a link handy you can post that shows this? I can't see any southerly movement in the one that I found. I'm trying to do everything possible to will some of the rain down here, but to no avail so far. Maybe if I stare at the sat pic long enough it will move south. Kinda like one of those holographic pictures that you stare at to see the image appear.

No doubt. We get bigger afternoon squalls blow through here than what creeped ashore in La yesterday. Although it has been a while now.
When I look at the state wide radar, I don't even see the front that was supposed to mix w/"it" as it moved west of us. I was hoping to at least get a shower from that Sunday. If that little troublemaker messed up our cool weather :grr:
Of course low 80's isn't great, but it's a start for us. :D

This was posted on the Weather Watch forum:

403 AM CDT FRI SEP 24 2004

...SPECIAL WEATHER UPDATE FOR NORTH TEXAS...

TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN...LOCATED IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS EARLY THIS
MORNING...WILL BRING WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO EAST
TEXAS TODAY. AS IT MOVES SLOWLY TO THE NORTHWEST...SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE OVER NORTH TEXAS THROUGH TONIGHT. WHILE
THERE IS A CHANCE OF RAIN OVER ALL OF NORTH TEXAS...THE BEST CHANCES
WILL BE ALONG AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 35. THE HEAVIEST RAINS ARE
EXPECTED IN THE SOUTHEAST...GENERALLY ALONG AND EAST OF A
CAMERON...MARLIN...CORSICANA...TERRELL...EMORY LINE. RAINFALL AMOUNTS
BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCHES...WITH ISOLATED THREE INCH AMOUNTS...ARE
POSSIBLE IN THIS AREA.

AT THIS TIME...THE THREAT OF WIDESPREAD FLASH FLOODING IS NOT
HIGH...ALTHOUGH BRIEF MINOR FLOODING OF ISOLATED LOW LYING AND FLOOD
PRONE AREAS IN THE SOUTHEAST ARE POSSIBLE. IF IVAN WERE TO SLOW ITS
FORWARD SPEED...OR CHANGE ITS TRACK...THE THREAT COULD CHANGE.
RESIDENTS OF NORTH TEXAS...ESPECIALLY EAST OF INTERSTATE 35 AND
SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 20...ARE REMINDED TO STAY INFORMED OF CHANGING
WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY.

So much for Ivan's remains moving south. At least according to this forecast.
