Fellow SC people, I have some questions for you.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Sorry, bree ... I know, I've seen more movement from a group of snails than the traffic on Ladson Rd during rush hour ...

Actually, the ECMWF model saw the sharp turn 7 days out, and locked onto the solution of a NC landfall and NEVER strayed ... the GFS was the last to catch up ... which wasn't seen by many operational mets and TV meteorologists since MOST do NOT consult other OP models besides the GFS/ETA ...

Floyd also has a large wind field and actually did quite a bit of tree damage in the Summerville area ... I recorded a PK wind gust of 77 mph during the afternoon in which this gust sent trees down, including one that fell on a Lexus Infiniti 2 houses down only 1 minute after the owner came back to the house after getting some medicine for his wife ... incredibly the tree itself did not blow out the tires, and only did auto body damage ($4,000), and NO components inside of the vehicle were damaged ...

This was the only time during the whole storm my ex-girlfriend actually get very nervous ... Charleston Waterfront Park actually recorded its strongest wind gust around 11 pm at night (81 mph) with the center of Floyd over 100 NM NE...
