Total Mental Shutdown

#1 Postby Downdraft » Sat Sep 25, 2004 11:34 am

I've never seen people reacting here like they are with Jeanne. Firefighters and police officers, EMS workers all just working with the same blank stare. I know the other people from Florida can relate to that. It really is overwhelming to get hit three times in two months. People here have no reserve mental energy for this. They are mentally beat to death and now what may be the worst of the worst for Central Florida is chewing her way across the warmest waters in the Atlantic basin. I swear to God people this whole state is running on empty. I wouldn't wish a hurricane on my worst enemy but every ounce of my being wishes Jeanne would go anywhere but here. Guess I'm venting Mother Nature is going to do what Mother Nature wants to do. All I want to do is sit down to Thanksgiving dinner this year and say thank God it's over. To my fellow Floridians stay safe we'll make it through this again and someday the scars will heal. No more blue tarps on roofs, no more shattered trees, no more sandbags and no more hurricanes. This is a year Florida will never forget God Bless ALL of YOU!

The psychiatric business should make a killing in Florida by the time hurricane season is over
