That this will be the year for FL to get a Mid-Late OCT backdoor Hurricane? Humm....It just fits the plot i guess...

I sure as heck hope not. I remember that Hurricane Michelle in 2001 gave us in South Florida a pretty good scare but fortunately nothing materialized.

the plot thickens, no but seriously, I know Oct. Carib storms have often hit S and SW florida. Does the threat to SE florida diminish during this time period? I know Hurricane King affected areas of the SE Fl coast some time ago.

Well if you remember back in 1999 we had Hurricane Irene hit South Florida in mid-late October. It didnt cause much wind damage but we had lots of flooding which was no fun at all.

Climatology for this type of active Florida year says we should have more storms, but this year has had a series of new records and trend bucking. So, if no storms follow it wouldn't be surprising...

This season has been mind-boggling.
I really don't see where climatology or synoptics were rights about pre-forecasting any of this.
so I couldn't possibly trust anyone's crystal ball.

(I know pre-forecasting isn't a real word, but I think you get my point)
