Still more active than I thought they'd say. I thought they'd say no more than two more storms, and only one more hurricane.

We'll see.

I am not letting my guard down just yet. Remember last year in 2003 we had 2 storms develop in December which is unheard of. Im keeping my hurricane check list until Nov 30.

That's true. Who would have believed that after a quiet November, December would bring 2 big surprises? One of them, Odette, never heard in the Atlantic History. Everyone should remember that Odette is the only system to have form in December in the Caribbean Sea.

Yeah and I remember that Gordon in 1994 did a very tricky move near Florida. That was a November storm if my memory serves me right.

Actually, 1887 had a hurricane and a tropical storm form in December.

The last hurricane to occur in the Atlantic was Hurricane Nicole on December 1st, 1998. She was downgraded later that day.

The last Atlantic hurricane to FORM in December was Hurricane Lili in 1984. This was in the middle of December.

The records for latest hurricane and earliest hurricane to occur in the Atlantic are held by the same storm!

Hurricane Alice was upgraded to a hurricane on December 30th, 1954 and remained a hurricane until January 4th, 1955.
