Broad low Pressure not better organized

#1 Postby cycloneye » Thu Oct 07, 2004 4:16 pm

Code: Select all

A RECONNAISSANCE PLANE HAS BEEN INVESTIGATING THE AREA OF DISTURBED
WEATHER IN THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO AND SO FAR IT HAS FOUND A
BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WITH LIGHT WINDS EXCEPT IN A FEW
SQUALLS. ALTHOUGH SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT THE SYSTEM HAS NOT
BECOME ANY BETTER ORGANIZED...SOME MODELS SUGGEST THE DEVELOPMENT
OF A TROPICAL OR NON-TROPICAL LOW DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO.  EVEN
IF THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT DEVELOP FURTHER...IT IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS OVER PORTIONS OF THE
NORTHWESTERN AND NORTHERN GULF COAST AS IT MOVES NORTHWARD TO
NORTHEASTWARD DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. ANOTHER PLANE IS
SCHEDULED TO INVESTIGATE THE AREA ON FRIDAY.

It has a long way to go yet.

Shear has definitely done a number on it this afternoon. Not nearly as healthy looking as it was before noon. That being said, I will still be watching for "bear" very closely into the night.

Id still be more concerned from the rain impacts, then this thing becoming a TD or TS or whatever.
