Hey, I live on the front beach in Biloxi, about 1 mile west of the President Casino, and a block from the Edgewater mall.... tides do look to be about 1.5 feet above normal in front of my house at the moment, there is a 7 foot 4X4 post attached on a drainage pipe at the edge of the water in front of my house so I can easily tell how high the tide is... slight chop of about 1-2 feet in the MS sound.... we've gotten some pretty good rain showers most of the day... I'm not sure the criteria for shutting down the casinos... I'd be surprised if they shut down for a weak TS.... I think the gaming commission might decide based on expected conditions, but there also may be a criteria strictly based on storm rating.... shutting down the casinos cost big bucks, and on this weekend it would really cost due to "cruising event"

This is our big weekend for "cruising the coast," a plethora of old classics driving up and dow the beach.... boy, I bet the owners not too happy getting all that rain on their high dollar paint jobs...

If wind increases with altitude.....the 80 percent reduction should be at 700 and 90 at 850.

That won't happen.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission dictates when they close, and a weak TS isn't gonna cause that.

We've had tropical storms come in over the central LA coast that prompted the MGC to close 'em - but only because of increased tidal impact. If increased tides won't be an issue, then I'd agree with this.
