If this loosely concentrated convection organizes and lifts north it has the potential for directly tropical formation...

if you run the loop http://met.psu.edu/tropical/tcgengifs the nogaps scenario begins with a disturbance just north of panama....

Like every other one did!

Everybody is going to drive themselves nuts over convection because all winter long you will see convection all around the Caribbean with every passing trough.
