when it rains, it pours:(.....snapper and grouper fishery in the keys took a similiar hit during georges in 98...thankfully, there was no subsequent closure. they have always been a "hand-to-mouth" bunch and never have the wherewithal to deal with these problems. long term, storms of ivan's intensity tend to recharge the near shore fishery by overturning the water column and reducing algal/silt buildup...thus benefiting the baitfish populations. unfortunately, it doesnt make next month's mortgage payment:(.......rich
