I know Ivan was a 5 in the caribbean..and Ivan was at 130mph when he made landfall you goof. Gusts around Mary Esther and Fort Walton were gusting past 122mph, while in Pensacola and Navarre the sustained winds were blowing at around 125mph...possibly higher. Ivan is a direct opposite to Opal in that Opal caused most of her damage from storm surge, the surge building to over 15ft, while Ivan caused most of his worst damage from the wind. Highway 98 between FWB and Destin was washed out both times..but in Opal a good 2 miles of higway was washed away while in Ivan only a 50 yard slab was washed away.
