JB's Rebuttal To Forecast Criticism

#1 Postby cyclonaut » Wed May 18, 2005 12:25 pm

FWIW... JB said on his vid the "Big Dog" that he has received many e-mails with people saying that his forecast is vague. He says what people are'nt seeing is that he has forecasted 5 landfalls to occur in that region he highlighted from Cape Hatteras to Brownsville. This is something that has only occurred 13 times since 1938 & if you do the math this is a 1 in 5 year occurence he is forecasting. He went on to say that those that e-mailed him with.."Whats the big deal bla bla bla..the Hurricane Center is not making any landfall predictions"..He went on to say that the Hurricane Center is forecasting 12 - 15 storms which has been a normal occurence over the last 10 years. Finally he said that when someone puts there tail on the line & says there will be x amount of storms & x amount of damage, in his opinion, "that is a forecast".

LMAO! Honestly, the point I was trying to get across is that at this time if JB is one of the guys backing the bill, I could care less what he thinks.

For the record I also could care less about JB &/or Accuweather.

My post was for people to get his response to that much criticized forecast & graphic for the 2005 Hurricane Season & to show that his bashing of the NHC is neverending.

People seem to care a great deal about JB which has always been beyond me. He's just another person sharing his never ending opinions on the web. He's prominent but that doesn't mean you have to buy into the hyoe.
