To play the "devil's advocate" for a minute. I know everyone is excited about the first system of the year and all eyes are on the Caribbean. I would like to know if there are any scenarios that could keep 90L as it is or maybe a weak depression that nobody is talking about. I don't mean today but in a couple of days from now once it is in the Gulf. Stronger shear, weaker high, trough, upper low, etc. I have not read any discussions about the extended forecast conditions for the central gulf and would like to know. Dry Air

When this thing makes into the GOM it is going to suck a bunch of dry air into it. It may be a tropical storm but convection is not going to 'wrap around'.
