Hurricane Allison, 1995; the last one!

The Hurricane Season of 1995 saw the last time in which the first named storm of the season formed in the Western Caribbean. Hurricane Allison, showed in the image and track above, was that storm. This year the same can happen, but DT #1 may not reach hurricane status as Allison did. But still, interesting.

I have been wondering, if TD #1 develops better, if Allison '95 is a good analog. It was posted the other day (maybe yesterday), and I can't help but agree, except it will likely hit further west. As for intensity, your guess is as good as mine. I do say probably a 65-mph tropical storm, but I actually would not be shocked if this somehow becomes a minimal hurricane, but no more intense.

TD 1 could take a similar track as well. I'm ready to signal the all clear for Louisiana, well at least my part. New Orleans could see some outer bands but we'll probably be hot and dry this weekend even though we could use the rain more than anyone else on the coast. Ahh well!

Interesting. I remember Allison being really lopsided and bad looking early on(actually it was lopsided it's entire life).
