#1 Postby Anonymous » Wed Jun 15, 2005 7:24 am

....and I thought she was in Canada by now

This from the NWS Jax AM Discussion

.SHORT TERM...TODAY THROUGH FRIDAY...
LONG LIVED STATIC TROPICAL MOISTURE PLUME OVER THE FORECAST AREA
LEFTOVER FROM T.S. ARLENE IS STILL PRODUCING SCTD SHOWERS/ISOLD
TSTMS THIS MORNING ACRS THE CWA. FORECAST IS FOR WESTERLIES AND
DEEPENING MID/UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE CENTRAL U.S. TO KICK THIS
FEATURE OFF TO THE SOUTH AND EAST TODAY AND ALLOW FOR PCPN CHANCES
TO TAKE A DIVE FOR THU AND FRI. ALTHOUGH WHAT WE WILL LACK IN PCPN WE
WILL MAKE UP FOR IN THE HEAT CATEGORY AS TEMPS WILL SOAR INTO THE
LOWER TO MID 90S OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS WITH HEAT INDICES UP
AROUND 105 DEGREES WED AND THU AFTERNOONS...ALTHOUGH GUIDANCE IS
SUGGESTING SLIGHTLY COOLER AND DRIER AIR WILL ARRIVE ON FRIDAY
SHAVING A FEW DEGREES OFF THE TEMPS AND DEWPOINTS AS WELL.

It's not Arlene or even remnants... It is a "plume" of moister that the basic path was opend by Arlene... The moister feed is still flowing through the path so to speak.. Arlene and what is left of here is long gone..

Arlene is gone... remember that convection off Arlene that was over the Caribbean when Arlene was in the Gulf??? It's the same deal.
