Everybody says no. I guess it all depends on the high just north of the system. Would be ironic though if it did develop and threaten Texas, its name would be Bret. The Bret of 1999 formed more or less in the same area and had weak steering currents ALMOST similar to now. I have noticed a slight surge to the NW this morning.
