I-95 & FL Turnpike

#1 Postby Blown Away » Fri Jul 01, 2005 3:16 pm

Was I-95 & Turnpike shut down as the hurricanes traversed through the state. My wife works in the ER and she said the their were numerous people calling 911 under overpasses as the Frances & Jeanne landfalled. One call in particular were Chinese tourists traveling from Orlando to Miami and had no clue what was going on around them. I've never evacuated so I don't know if signs are posted near the FL/GA border or North Florida informing people. It would be hard for me to believe their would be anybody that would not be informed at that point, but there were. I would think the FHP would set set up a check point somewhere.
