Question about the Florida Keys

When was the last time a major hurricane impacted the island chain?

Technically, I guess Andrew, which swiped the Upper Keys. Alma swiped Key West in '66. Betsy in '65 was the last direct hit from a Cat 3+.

Thanks, I was thinking about the same. I was asking this because a reporter said that the last time the keys had a major cane was in the 40s, and I saw it awkward.

Donna was a Cat 4 in 1960... gusts up to 180 mph.
