Someone from France told me they get the "Fish"

I'm sure most everyone here knows this, but I never thought of it. All the fish go out the north atlantic and hit England or France or somebody as extra-tropical systems. He made it sound like they are similar to our hurricanes, bad winds rain and waves. So my question is, where can I find more info on these storms?

That is very true. Europe receives a lot of wind, rain, and even damage from these extratropical remnants. I can speak from experience from when I was stationed in Germany. For those who painfully tracked Hurricane Kyle a few years ago -- after the NHC finally wrote off the system, Europeans had to deal with a very powerful, yet slow moving system come through. As a matter of fact, more damage was caused throughout Europe after Kyle became extratropical than he did when he skirted the US.

As for sites with this information, I don't know any specifically. Once the storm loses it's "tropical name" people tend to forget about it. They aren't really publized as a "Kyle" or whatnot in Europe, other than a powerful low. Ocassionally the name might pop up.

I'm sure some of our members from the United Kingdom might have more to add...
