At 5 a.m. CDT, the NWS Brownsville airport reporting station had winds from the E at 31 mph gusting to 46 mph.

NWS Brownsville station reported heavy rain and winds of 38 gusting to 48mph at 5:53 cdt

Most of the nasty weather seems to be just to the south of Brownsville. It does look as if they will get some much needed rain in South Texas, so this is really a nice scenario for them it would appear.

There was just a gust to 63mph in Brownsville during the past hour.

Houston local media reported 55MPH in Brownsvlle and 81MPH on S Padre
