I correctly predicted 5 named storms, and 2 hurricanes for July. Thus with my good luck, I thought I'd try it again. Here goes:
9 named storms
5 hurricanes
2 major hurricanes

1995? thats named storms I think they had 21 in 1933 1995 had only 19
My 100% unofficial sort of educated guess of an august forcast
7 named storms
4 hurricanes
3 major hurricanes
1 Cat 5 (I think one WILL hit the united states before this season is over)
2 Florida landfalls
4 U.S landfalls total (Includes depressions storms and hurricanes)
This pace would shatter my original 100% partly educated even more of a guess of the 2005 season
16 named storms
9 hurricanes
5 Major Hurricanes
2 Cat 5's
5 Florida Landfalls (Not like last years though as in not as powerful set of storms)
7 U.S Landfalls
Our stats now
7 Named storms
2 hurricanes
2 major hurricanes
0 Cat 5's
2 Florida Landfalls
3 U.S landfalls

I concur. But I think August will be the calm before the storm, not the month that the USA should dread....

RE:
Indeed. In 1995 we had 19 named storms, but only one hurricane (Opal) of major status made landfall on the US mainland. Nearly all the other monsters (like Felix and Luis), recurved after smashing through the Islands.

I think a tropical storm may affect Florida and possibly a Hurricane for South or North Carolina. The northern Leeward Islands may take a hit from a major hurricane.
