The last Time this Happened.....
When was the last this happen to have three landfalling systems within such a close range of each other.I know of one series back in the 1860's that this occurred.I think they were 60NM of each other and under a month.Goes to show a pattern that may prevail for a little longer.I would expect a change in the pattern before long I hope.

Even though that occured last year, that is still incredible that they ended up coming ashore almost at the exact same spot. Especially considering that big loop Jeanne made before she started heading west toward the coast.
And the fact they both had very large windfields and huge eyes. So many similarities it is scary!

In the 10 years since this active period began, 7 storms - Erin and Opal (both in 1995), Ivan (2004), Danny (1997), Barry (2001)and Arlene and Dennis (both in 2005) all came in between Mobile and Panama City, in other words, the Pensacola area. Not really that important, but just some interesting trivia for y'all living in the Pcola.
