Is the year of the fishes?

#1 Postby floridahurricaneguy » Sat Aug 06, 2005 1:00 am

Do you think even though it will be an active season that we will have many fish? Just wondering,

A strange poll indeed. I mean, besides Franklin (and probably soon-to-be Irene), every storm has hit land. Yes, I am counting Harvey as affecting land. He practically went right over Bermuda.

Some fishes but equal share of action along the coast and Atlantic and Islands.

Well, Franklin went directly over the Bahamas on my map!

7 out of 8 named systems thus far (August 6!) have affected land areas and there's concern about a "fish season"? :roflmao:

There is always going to be a few fish every season. Much of whether a storm affects land has to do with timing.

I say half and half.

I love how people want to downplay this season just because it was so active in July  . We were at ONE named system this time last year. The conditions are also far different than 95, so there might be a few fishes but not many at all.

fish..

#16 Postby FloridaDiver » Sat Aug 06, 2005 3:38 pm

If one bases their answer on the last three systems, two which definitely recurved, one that looks like it will.... perhaps the Bermuda high is not going to be a factor this year and we may get a fair number of fishies...

well one can dream can't we?

I personally think the ridge will build in and get stronger.
