Gulf of Mexico Tropical Summary - GUTS IN on August 11, 2005
<img src="http://www.diamondheadweather.com/guts20050811.jpg">
The Gulf of Mexico is just a mess - we have our persistent weak surface
low and associated trough south of Pensacola, plus our upper
level low now moving in over this area. This is resulting in a mix
of dry, then moist air being fed into the surface low, courtesy of the
upper level low.
What does all this mean? First, I do not expect tropical cyclone
development here or anywhere else in the Gulf of Mexico in the
next 48-72 hours. Second, a better-than-normal chance of rain
over the northern gulf states for the next few days.
