It was 55kt at 11am.

I think this is where the confusion arose:

cycloneye wrote:She keeps going,and going,and going.....................

The lastest ATCF best track increases the winds to 60kts:

AL, 02, 2008071818, , BEST, 0, 369N, 514W, 60, 992, TS, 50, NEQ, 35, 50, 35, 35, 1014, 300, 35, 0, 0,

This was increased again to 65kt:
AL, 02, 2008071812, , BEST, 0, 355N, 530W, 55, 995, TS, 50, NEQ, 35, 50, 0, 0, 1014, 300, 45, 65, 0, L, 0, , 0, 0, BERTHA, D, 12, NEQ, 100, 210, 150, 120
AL, 02, 2008071818, , BEST, 0, 369N, 514W, 65, 989, HU, 34, NEQ, 110, 150, 110, 75, 1014, 300, 35, 0, 0, L, 0, , 0, 0, BERTHA, D,

However I am using operational data only, not the running BT. I believe HURAKAN is doing the same.

:uarrow: Operational ACE would be almost 26, then, as you have listed (although technically the ACE can be interpreted to be over 26, but you know that).

I've realized that my way of finding ACE using my ACECalcs program (written in the C# programming language) is a bit more difficult than just using Excel, so I've switched to that, and inserted categories similar to HURAKAN's picture:

Unless the NHC announces that it's started undergoing extratropical transition and drops advisories at the next warning.
