system looks bleak and meaningless right now but who knows what might happen down the road.Better that it goes in the gulf anyways instead of up my way the models all have different strengths but shear still seems to be a problem so you can have the system and the rest of them for that matter

too far northncdowneast wrote:this system has given EVERY reason to doubt its possibilities to develop but thats not to say that it will not develop but that it just looks like crap right now.
I wonder how the cold front thats suppose to be in my area is going to affect any storm that does develop.

Why thank you! I'm pretty fond of most of the folks on this board too.
In all seriousness, a stopped clock shows the right time twice a day, what I mean is that a certain person's mostly unfounded doom and gloom predictions and "nervousness" over forming blobs is bound to come true sooner or later. It makes me sad to think though that every time there's a flare-up of clouds or a little spot of convection, he's thinking that it's the end of the world.
Most of us Boca folks consider Boca Raton a paradise (usually) but if a person is so nervous about tropical weather, maybe a safer climate would be a better choice? Or try to be proactive and join CERT or the American Red Cross or a group that does something during storms...that way instead of hiding under the bed when the winds blow, there's something to occupy your mind.
Just my thoughts on a hot night.

I admit, I have some nervousnous but I do not get nervous over every blob. Boca won't be a paradise when the major comes in and I think that will happen sooner than later, sorry for the pessimism; I like to consider it reality.

From cycloneye's post:
ANYTIME in Aug-Sept when you have a wave/disturbance in the area that this one is in, you have to be nervous. I am still nervous about this one until it is out of the 90F water temps and moving away from the peninsula.
Steve Lyons just said that the Hurricane Hunters will fly into the system tommorow.Let's see in reallity if recon goes depending on how the system looks in the morning.

CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS EXTEND FROM EASTERN CUBA AND HISPANIOLA
ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN BAHAMAS AND THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS...
AND INTO THE ATLANTIC FOR A FEW HUNDRED MILES. THIS ACTIVITY IS
POSSIBLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION TEN.
GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT DAY
OR TWO AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT ABOUT 10 MPH.
The above is the TWO of 10:30 PM for ex 10.
Here we go as I expected several days ago.

SOUTHEASTERN BAHAMAS. ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM IS
POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD
AT ABOUT 10 MPH. AN AIR FORCE RESERVE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT IS
SCHEDULED TO INVESTIGATE THE SYSTEM THIS AFTERNOON...IF NECESSARY
Satellite pics are looking very ominous this morning and pressures are dropping.

good, my water bill is already sky high so we can use a good heavy rain and some clouds to take a bite out of those ac bills. chris, if this looks very ominous what words would you use to describe an andrew type of deal?

boca is right. You can only bend it so far before it breaks...90 degree water off FL coast with Low Pressure means business. Not to mention record breaking heat for the past 2 weeks and no rain...Tropical storms are Mother NAtures way of Releasing energy and i see no reason why she should not do it here...Prediction Stands CAT 1 in the Bahamas ready to roll over a 93 degreee Gulfstream as it heads into the Peninsula..
