Re: Tropical Wave Near the Cabo Verde Islands
This one concerns me a bit, could be a threat later on down the road. I think this one has a pretty good chance at developing as it gets closer to the islands. Long way out still though

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

DMIN is at sunset. DMAX is at sunrise.
Thank you, this is what I wanted to know, I assumed it was at or just before sunrise. I always mix up the MAX and MIN too because its backwards from what you would think.

Re: Tropical Wave South of the Cabo Verde Islands
Take a peek at these solid mid level vorticity signatures, with the spin starting to work its way to the lower and upper levels -- this thing has definitely got to be tagged as 91L at the 8:00am update, right? To me it looks like a near-TD already, and I think it's becoming increasingly likely that this develops and gets named within 72-96 hours, or maybe even earlier. Are we watching the switch finally being flipped in real time?

That sound that you might hear this morning, is the 2022 Hurricane Season "bell" LOL. 10N & 35W is in fact what models have been lighting up with. That wave is consolidating nicely with what appears to be an impressive CDO having developed with beautiful outflow. This could potentially become a problem for some folks.... we'll see.

That relatively close spread ten days out is quite concerning

Re: Tropical Wave South of the Cabo Verde Islands
Found this interesting from NWS San Juan:
https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=SJU&issuedby=SJU&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1
A tropical wave, now located near the Cabo Verde Islands over the
Eastern Atlantic Ocean, and actively monitored by the National
Hurricane Center, is forecast to approach the region by the end of
the workweek into the weekend. Although ECMWF and GFS have some
discrepancies with the time of the arrival and the intensity of a
tropical cyclone, both guidances are now suggesting a tropical
cyclone near the region by the weekend. As we approach the month
of September, we encourage residents, tourists, and visitors in
Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to review their emergency
plans and actively monitor the products issued by your Weather
Forecast Office and the National Hurricane Center.

I gotta say, if some of those “what should be Danielle” tracks verify, then the talks of this season being a bust or a dud will likely and literally fall into a pit of oblivion.
I think this is simply a delayed switch flip. It was only a matter of time before this season started to produce stuff imho.

Unless explicitly stated, all info in my posts is based on my own opinions and observations. Tropical storms and hurricanes can be extremely dangerous. Do not think you can beat Mother Nature. Refer to an accredited weather research agency or meteorologist if you need to make serious decisions regarding an approaching storm.

The full EPS run is also concerning especially for SFL, particularly because the operational and the ensembles seem to be starting to agree now

GEFS also has them but has a weaker ridge as it typically does
