record breaking heat the last two weeks and no rain don't cause hurricanes.

I don't see how people can complain about rain. It's our lifeblood.

If people don't like rain, they should go see how much fun it is living in Phoenix, under constant drought conditions. If droughts are permanent, are they really "droughts" anymore? Funny, I think I'd call that what it is....which is "desert"

Like the post says I'm getting nervous about a tropical wave heading over us give me a break.Even if its a tropical depression it doesn't phase me.If its a cat1 hurricane that's different.Let it rain for 3 days we can use it.

I have been posting about the powder keg of 90 degree waters and lack of rain here as it relates to the remnants of TD 10 since it passed the Northern Leeward Islands. Seems like it has been for weeks!

Mother Nature has a way of balancing things out and last year Mother Nature gave us two hurricanes and 30" of rain in September!

Still, this thing has been threatening to develop, SHIPS has had it as a hurricane 5 days out for about the past 10 days; and we have not received raindrop #1 yet.

So, here's to hope that it remains a wave or TD at best and gives us a ton of rain to cool us off, cool down the ocean SST's a bit and then goes away.

NOT nervous at all about this system, only the chance that it does NOT bring us any rain and Mother Nature has "other" plans for us to balance things out......

Come on Chris; you already saw, in the TD 10..back again thread; that Luis said he would not be surprised to see a Special Statement about this today!

He did not make any mention about a name in a day..

It does look very impressive boca. Would not be surprised if TD formed by days end.

I admit boca-chris. I deserve a major serving of crow if this becomes a TD or even a named storm. But you are right. its moving soooo slowly and also over those warm warm waters off the Bahamas, they are what? Near 90F?

If a Cat 5 is bearing down on Miami expect around 1-2 thousands posts per day in this thread. Even that could be an understatement...

It would NOT require a cat 5 to bring 1000-2000 posts.
A hurricane, Cat 1, 2 .... bearing down on Miami would generate it.
