That tornado lasted over a hour on the ground, I have never heard of that here so long since I have lived here.

Thank you Central..

Glenn Richards on Fox just mentioned he thinks the tornado threat is decreasing. I'm assuming he meant decreasing temporarily. Because if not, I think he's a total idiot lol..

Anyway.. It's very quiet here.. Rain, lightning, but very little wind.

Even the tornadoes in the 1998 outbreak didn't stay on the ground that long.. and a lot of them were F 3's..

NP. I'm just mad I had to take my lighter Halloween decorations inside to avoid the possibility of one of my neighbors having a gravestone sail through their window. Now that I've taken them in, winds won't be so bad; if I left them out, I'd have jinxed the neighborhood to high gusts...

Just rain w/no wind here so far; nice lightning though.

Here in Lakeland lightning, bursts of heavy rain with some wind gusts. Main concern right now is this dad-gum tornado threat. Polk County seems to be pretty active in that respect right now, and I'm not liking it. Not looking forward to the evening ahead filled with more of the same, either.

It's strange, too. I've never gone through or anticipated a hurricane before where I was dealing with this intense mixture of emotions - not wishing the landfall of this witch on anyone (VERY concerned for people down south who more or less shrugged of the potential threat), still praying for the poor souls in Mexico facing recovery after that brutal pounding they took, while in the forefront of my mind feeling so scared for my own family with these tornados (which, now I'm hearing could actually come in "clusters"! CLUSTERS???!!!)

I'm just so glad to have everyone here in these forums for info, data, tips, and above all, support. Thanks again for opening this central fla thread. Great idea. I check in OFTEN, and will continue to - as long as the power hold out. Stay safe!

If you had had this one locked, the other one on the same subject would have thrived just fine. The point was to have one thread on Central FL, not several, and not a couple new ones every night. I'm sure you understand that by now, or really you should.

Loud thunder/lightening bands just now approaching here from the south. Not a bit happy that Channel 13 just showed the south edge of the cold front spanning across the state almost directly over where we are posting from. We've temporarily become "tornado alley".

I know.. "Weather Authority" "Our Calm in the Storm" along with Kristi.. Miss, I can't stand her Powers and Jim Country Van Fleet..

I actually like all 3 of them.. just the "Calm in the Storm" slogan is wack

If the front stays on top of us long enough.. It's gonna be a long, potentially destructive night here.. This is getting bad..

I just discovered that the KMLB radar now has SRV(storm relative velocity - what the TV mets show to indicate winds going in opposite directions, or spin) imaging loops available!

Now if that red and green would quit getting together...

interesting! (poor Brevard)
