If anyone wants to send an email to the WMO organization which decided about the names and didn't retired Emily and you want to let them know you are not in favor and about reconsideration of that decision the email addy is above.

We should also suggest a replacement name for Emily. It has to be a female "E" name that is easy to recognize.

Names not available: Edna, Emilia, Elena, Elida, Eloise, Erika, Erin, Estelle.

Names not recommended: Edith, Ethel

The name I would choose: Elaine

Anyone else kind of iffy on those new names. I thought there might be some better names they could have picked but, not my choice.

Just think instead of Emily not being retired. Just think for a second if this was Katrina not being retired.

Agreed on replacing Katrina and especially Rita - Rina sounds too much like Rita. I would have chosen something like Rhonda or Rashida.

Well... it was up to Mexico to request retirement. They apparently didn't find her worthy of it.

Rina sounds too close to Rita IMO...

I believe Emily was the first Cat 5 ever in July, so the answer is, not that often.

Yeah Rina is extremely close to Rita and Katia is also 2 letters away from Katrina.
As for Emily, lets just say I personally think Mexico's tourism has a large part to play for them not nominating Emily for retirement.
