Cyclone.....if you look at Derek's post, it pretty much has it right in between VI and PR, so I would assume watches will probably be posted tomorrow.......but, you never know.....

Brownsville to Maine...;)

I disagree. I think it will be Maine to Brownsville.

I'm not sure I see this one dying so easily, since he's been so persistent so far, but that's just my unprofessional opinion.

It's funny to see what a little TD forming will do to this board, even though it's so far away from where the majority of the people here live . . . last check had 176 online right now. Can't wait untill we get our first major or RI cycle . . .

BVIgal the same question and for anyone else in the islands

The goverment of Puerto Rico is preparing for anything that the system may bring to Puerto Rico. The emergency management agency is making preparations around the island in conjunction with 54 goverment agencies.

The above was just announced by the emergency management agency director in Puerto Rico Nazario Lugo.

I think is a good measure that the goverment here is doing even if it not develop into a depression or storm.

I posted this at the 99L thread earlier this evening.

That is a sure bet, about TS watches and warnings that will be posted for some of the islands in the northern Leewards, maybe further west in the BVI,USVI and Puerto Rico?

The pressure drop to 1005 mb and Dvorak now at 2.0/2.0, sure happened pretty fast after the 5:30 TWO! I think this system is taking itself seriously.

1005 mb? from where? an observation of this?

OK, we have hashed out the issue of sensitivity and it's all been said. Please, this thing is blowing up pretty fast the last 6 hours, and even though it MIGHT fizzle, it MIGHT NOT. And we in NE Carib have a VERY short time to get ready. A TS can cause flooding, mudslides, days without power, and life-threatening situations for inexperienced mariners out on a what is still a 400-strong charter boat fleet. If I could have my wish, it would be to see posts containing well-thought out opinions, facts and resources - USEFUL posts here, not a lot of time-consuming fluff to wade through. Not just for this thread, but for all storms for the whole season. Can we elevate ourselves to that level? Oh crap I just burned dinner!

Brownsville and Maine...

Even money!

Actually, right now I'm going to bet that it doesn't go between them. It's looking like it might head up the islands and get ripped apart.

Now I'm not HOPING for this as opposed to a US strike. A minor TS through Hispanola will kill many people. Just saying it looks likely now to me.

Not that my opinion is going to change anything. 8-)

Bwah, good catch. NRL is at 1009mb. Expect that at the lowest at 11.
