It could fit into that channel if it went eastward. Then into the Mediterranean. Its possible...The Gfs is farther south I believe...

What's wishful about that? I'm confused. Do you just enjoy oddities?

Its over less then 23c water now. It gets down near 21.5 or so...I will have to check Med water temperatures....

I personally think this hurricane could care less about water temperature.

21c through the channel then around 22 to 23c once over the Med. The southern Med has areas of 26 to 28c. Interesting.

SST is not what fuels hurricanes, but the temp difference between the SST and the upper environment. Obviously, the upper enviornment is quite cold, providing enough instability

Goping over warmer SST may decrease the temp difference and not be good for this feature, similar to Olga in 2001

My absolute, 100% favorite, quote of all time from the NHC. :D

Doesn't matter.

The word: "wow" still applies.

It did that 3 times last night. See how the deeper conection is rewraping around eye. I expect it to look good again with in 6 hours.

Shear? There's barely any shear out there.

The shear tendency map shows a pocket 30 kt and increasing shear in the area, but I didn't think of the possibility that that shear is being created by Vince itself.
