This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

There's a low level circulation trying to get started in the southern GOM around 87N 23W that I'm predicting will cause an invest by tomorrow afternoon. By the time it starts to look like something of concern it may drift a bit further South and West and from there I think the CMC path is reasonable, but probably a little to far West...

Just my SWAG for the day.

TWOAT
TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1030 PM EDT SAT SEP 8 2007

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL
STORM GABRIELLE LOCATED ABOUT 115 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF CAPE
LOOKOUT NORTH CAROLINA.

A TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE
VERDE ISLANDS IS PRODUCING A LARGE AREA OF CLOUDINESS AND
THUNDERSTORMS. THIS SYSTEM HAS CHANGED LITTLE IN ORGANIZATION
DURING THE PAST 24 HOURS...BUT STILL HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME
DEVELOPMENT DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT ABOUT
15 MPH.

DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM CUBA AND
SOUTHERN FLORIDA WESTWARD INTO THE SOUTHERN GULF OF MEXICO ARE
ASSOCIATED WITH A WEAK SURFACE TROUGH AND AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW.
UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT CURRENTLY FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

Wow. The pressures have dropped
substantially over florida:

Disclaimer: If you are easily offended, it is
HIGHLY recommeded that you refrain from
reading/responding to the following, which is my true,
sincere, candid, unveiled opinion of the tropical
life:

This had better develop or I am going to be
really dissappointed. I want some close to home
action, NOW. I have been waiting all year and
my waiting had better pay off. I want something a tropical
storm not a hurricane but a weak tropical storm
to Head up by floridas west coast and then
hit alabama relieving their drought. Nothing
like the Thrill of a Homebrew Tropical
Storm. It is my life. I live for these things. They
enrich the joy I feel living in the tropics.
And NO, I don't want destruction, because I
said Tropical Storm, not Big Daddy Hurricane.

Now that would be some wild stuff right there.

"UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT CURRENTLY FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT."
It seems the TWO has an educated SWAG of its own. Will continue to watch it as conditions can change, but for the time being my SWAG is in line with the TWO.
P.S.: You may want to consider adding SWAG to the S2K tropical reference library! j/k, but I kind of like the term!
