SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS A FEW HUNDRED MILES EAST OF THE LEEWARD
ISLANDS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE. SLOW DEVELOPMENT OF
THIS SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT ABOUT 15 MPH...AND
IT COULD BRING SOME SHOWER ACTIVITY TO THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS
DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO.

so surprise here......if this thing holds together (and that is a big IF)...there is no doubt Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and South Florida need to pay attention..

This is a CLASSIC setup for September folks (Jeanne is just one example).

If the convection keeps going at close to this rate through the next few hours then it definitely deserves an Invest. It appears to have a mid-level circulation under the SW part of the convection and that'll work its way down if the convection doesn't fade.

This system is in a dangerous location for the florida coastline as it is pretty far north already and most of the time systems that develope in this area threaten florida.
