With the first post showing where this is I choose to add some excitment to the forum by having this different title from those that say, strong wave emerging Africa etc. :)

Nothing at the 2 PM TWO,but if it can sustain convection for 6-12 hours, they will start to mention it and also it may be tagged as 97L.

Yes it looks impressive but it's rather low in latitude. There is a lot of SAL nearby and we've seen dozens of waves that looked great but poofed into nothingness in less than a day. There's not much model support either so I highly doubt anything becomes of it as of right now.

I added the infared image to the first post of thread and yes, interesting that convection has increased but again, 6-12 more hours to really be more enthusiastic, however, is very impressive at the moment and is the only game in town on the basin so let's follow this to see what occurs.

True, but as we've seen in the past, if they do develop, then they have a greater change of lifting out of the ITCZ....
Now if it just stays a wave, then yes, it probably will be too far south to do anything.

I think I'll start a new acronym for threads such as this that hopefully one day will be half as popular as Bones' picture, and become the AYBABTU of this forum:

"WMUWIR40W" (wake me up when it reaches 40W) :D

Gotta admit this wave is quite impressive now, its growing convection as its getting further west...lets watch what happens with this one in the next 24hrs, esp if it holds convection.

Welcome to Storm2k. Depends on how big the Saharan Air Layer outbreak is and how strong the trade winds are blowing, it may last longer and travel longer distances.

Most likely another promising shape soon to be shredded by the SAL and July ITCZ.
