Now closing in on 36 hours until the Atlantic Hurricane Season

As it presently stands, thus far 13 forecasting "NO" development prior to June 6
9 forecasting "YES", a named storm in the Atlantic basin prior to that date.

Good Morning. I would think that we would have a TD but not a TS so my vote would be "No"

With 2 hours to go, HAPPY, SAFE HURRICANE SEASON EVERYONE!

Well, given the official start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season is upon us, we might as well just tally up the results of this "over/under" development folly, and perhaps defer to Cycloneye (or any other moderator) to close this particular thread.

Final Count:
17 Forecasted "YES" for early development prior to June 6 (12Z),
10 Forecasted "NO" for early development prior to June 6 (12Z)

Six days remain until that date, and at present the EURO is hinting at the possibility of a low forming in the E. Gulf during this time. At the same time however, the models have been fairly inconsistent over the past few weeks and obviously conditions have yet to quite provide the right set up for development. One thing we all know though... it's only a matter of time.
