There is an upper high building over the NW Caribbean. But with that trof digging down to the Gulf coast by Wednesday, mid to upper-level wind flow will shift from SE-S to S-SW. So any developing system in the central Gulf would be turned N-NE. Texas looks safe from this one. It looks like highest chances for landfall would be Florida.
